Some of the members elected on the Governing Council

The newly elected Governing Council of the Human Resources Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) will promote higher engagement and value addition to the community of practice in Uganda and beyond by revolutionising its mission and positioning itself as the bonafide professional membership body for HR practitioners in the country.

Stanbic Bank’s Moses Mbubi Witta has been re-elected President of the HRMAU for another two-year term. Mr Mbubi was elected recently during the association’s first ever virtual Annual General Meeting held as a Zoom call.

The president appreciated the outgoing Governing Council for an incredible job done and mentioned that he is humbled by the trust and support that has been extended to him and the entire Governing Council by the members of the association. “To the new colleagues on the team, this is a duty you have to execute selflessly – it is a duty that calls for your dedication and commitment to the execution of the plans that we have; before us is an opportunity to make change,” said Mr Mbubi.

The association also looks to leveraging on robust collaboration with its members and strategic partners to offer smart solutions for continuous professional development across all sectors and deliver a self-sustaining member driven association.

“We have a well-balanced team by generations, experience, gender and key HR practice sectors. We look forward to your support in executing our mandate.” said President Moses Witta Mbubi along with the official announcement of the newly elected Governing Council addressed to HRMAU members. “Thank you for your kind congratulatory messages – Together we can.”

The new leadership assumes responsibility at a time when the association has registered significant improvements in its financial performance, member mobilization, branding and visibility, partnerships, technology and digitization, milestones in the drive to institutionalize the profession through the HR Bill and enhancement of members’ capabilities as indicated in the HRMAU Annual Report, 2019.
