President Yoweri Museveni has appointed a new chairperson for the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC), along with a new vice chairperson and members.
In a 23rd March 2021 letter to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, Museveni names Hon. Safia Jjuko Nalule (Chairperson), Ojok Joel Cox (Vice Chairperson), Ms Denise Tumusiime (Member), Zaidi Ibrahim Edema (Member), and Sr Mary Wasangali (Member)
“I hereby forward their names and Curriculum Vitae for Parliament approval,” the President says in the letter.

Early this year, the contracts of officials at the Commission (EOC) reportedly ran out and the President had since been consulting on the matter.
The expiry of the contracts came at a time when then chairperson, Sylvia Muwebwa Ntambi was facing corruption charges along with other officials; Agnes Enid Kamahoro, Moses Mugabe, Mpitsi Mujuni, Ronnie Kwesiga, Manasseh Kwihangana, Harriet Byangire, Evans Jjemba, Sarah Nassanga and Sunday Nicholas Olwor.
