
Ugandan business and corporate women benefitted from the 2nd annual MTN Women in Business event held in the week ending Friday 22nd March 2014 at the Kampala Serena Hotel under the theme ‘Work Life balance-Getting more women into the real economy’. The event which involved a panel discussion addressing issues that affect women in the male dominated job and enterprise arena was in line with the International Women’s day held annually on 8th March.
Speaking during the event MTN Uganda’s Senior Manager of Enterprise Hazel Twesigye said the telecom has in the last year made a commitment to support SMEs across the country most of which are run by women. “MTN Uganda acknowledges the importance of Ugandan women in both the social and economic development of the country. This year, as the rest of the world celebrated the annual International Women’s Day, we thought it best to again give Ugandan women entrepreneurs the opportunity to network and dialogue.
