Margaret Lukowe- Senyonjo has handled countless projects that have been impactful to their intended audiences
She is a dependable Business Development Specialist, equipped with knowledge, skills and experience in marketing, sales, Public relations, project management and stakeholder engagement.
Margaret has for the last 12 years earned practical experience in concept development, program management, training, media and product development especially in the broadcasting industry.
As a Task Manager she formatted and established Voice of Teso in Soroti to become the leading radio station in Eastern Uganda with over 16 regional Agents operational within the first year of business. She spearheaded the radio network syndicate for Micro and Small Enterprise (SME) journalism that has seen the growth of SME radio programs in Uganda.
Margaret set and participated in Social Marketing programs for CBS FM covering the subjects such as household economic empowerment. Most notable of these is the Quality Animal Basket- “Nsindika Njake” a concept implemented in partnership with Quality Chemicals Ltd and BUCADEF, that has today evolved to what is known as CBS PEWOSA.
With her research techniques and participatory approach, she developed community development programs and enterprise development concepts for CBS FM, AIM Project, and East Africa Jua Kali Expo. She has also done training programs for up-coming journalists specializing in Social Marketing modules, on consultancy basis. Margaret has implemented Information, Education and Communication programs on biodiversity conservation at community level with a USAID funded project; PRIME/West based in Western Uganda.
She was pivotal in developing Sales and Communications Strategies for advertisers at the New Vision-Electronic Media Segment. While at New Vision, Maggie was a pioneer team leader for HARVEST MONEY; a multi-media product to promote agribusiness that focuses on addressing challenges such as market linkages, climate change, standards and export promotion.
She is a director at OMNICOM LTD with most outstanding performance as the Account Director for “Honour Your Vote” Campaign in Feb 2011 on behalf of Citizens’ Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU) and the “Silent Nights-Happy Day” Net care campaign in Serere district with Stop Malaria Project under the Johns Hopkins University.
She also worked on conceptualizing and managing the “Votability” campaign that concluded in early May 2015 and also as the Communications Specialist for the Quality Infrastructure and Standards Program (QUISP) at Uganda National Bureau of Standards ending December 2014.
Talking about “Votability”, Margaret says: The campaign was short but impactful- with “Votability” trending in lingua with persons across the country.
She went on to work on other successful consultancies including project management of the Uganda Oil and Gas Insurance Consortium while at Uganda Insurers Association, and The National Dialogue in 2018 -2019. She is also currently at Finance Trust Bank since August 2019 in the Business Development Department.
Margaret holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, a PG Certificate in Management from Uganda Management Institute and a Master’s in Business Administration – Executive Leadership from the South Eastern University in Florida, USA.
Margaret is a wife and a mother of three. She is driven by a desire to succeed and is widely traveled in the Great Lakes region.
