Kevin Wingfield, hitherto the Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited, Head Personal and Business Banking (PBB) has been appointed Managing Director for Stanbic Bank Tanzania Limited.
The appointment took effect on April 1st, 2020.
As Head of Personal and Business Banking (PBB) segment (a job he took up in April 2015), Kevin was in charge of banking and other financial services to individual customers and small to medium-sized enterprises. PBB also incorporates mortgage, lease, and transactional products for individual customers.
This segment accounts for about 50% of the bank’s portfolio in Uganda.
During his time, he was able to grow PBB segment deposits by 47.1% from UGX1.7 trillion in 2016 to UGX2.5 trillion in 2019 (CAGR: 10%) and PBB segment lending by 56.2% from UGX1.1 trillion to UGX1.7 trillion (CAGR: 12%) in the same period.

As a result, PBB revenue grew by 36.1% from UGX330 billion in 2016 to UGX449 billion at the end of 2019 (CAGR: 8%), thus a 76.7% growth in segment profit after tax from UGX60bn to UGX106 billion in the same period (CAGR: 15%).
Kevin is largely an all-round banker.
He spent his early days at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in South Africa and Australia. He joined the Standard Bank Group as the Director Finance for Africa for 4 years and between 2003 and November 2007, he became the Director, Strategic Finance at Stanbic Africa. Between December 2007 and March 2010, he became the Director, Customer Strategy and Channel Development at the Stanbic Africa division.
In April 2010, he joined Stanbic Ghana as the Head, Personal and Business Banking until October 2013. From November 2013 to 2015, he served as the Head of Customer Channels, Personal and Business Banking; Africa, before becoming the Head Personal and Business Banking, Stanbic Bank Uganda.
