Regional Airline operator Kenya Airways has denied claims that it has increased fares on its Entebbe Nairobi route following suspension of operations of 3 airlines by the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda. The airlines which include Air Uganda, TransAfrik Uganda and Uganda Air Cargo were suspended for failure to meet the required safety standards specified by the regulator. This has consequently led to a clamoring of passengers for available flights plying this route including Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and Rwanda Air all of which have allegedly increased their fares.
In a press release seen by the CEO Magazine, Kenya Airways Managing Director Titus Naikuni cautioned the Ugandan media against circulating misleading articles.
“Kenya Airways has not effected any fare review or increase on the Entebbe-Nairobi route as wrongly noted in media articles. The cheapest fare between Entebbe and Nairobi route for the last ten months has been and still is USD 120 (excluding taxes) but fare availability is subject to flight demand,
