
JINJA, UGANDA- Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has partnered with One Petroleum Ltd to restock the Jinja Fuel Storage Terminal with over 13.5million litres of fuel.
The Terminal has been largely idle after Hared Petroleum who was given the contract to restock, manage and operate it in 2011 during the Kenya political violence, which led to scarcity and skyrocketing fuel prices reportedly abandoned it.
According to John Friday the Commissioner Petroleum Supply Uganda targets to have over 100million litres of fuel buffer to guarantee the security of petroleum supply. The Jinja Storage Terminal has a total storage capacity of 30million litres.
