I&M Bank Uganda, a subsidiary of the I&M Group PLC, one of the leading financial services groups in East Africa, has appointed Timothy Musiime and Lucy Akech as Chief Finance Officer and Head of Human Resources respectively. 

Mr. Musiime, brings to the bank, over 20 years of experience in banking, audit and assurance, manufacturing, commercial trade, treasury and corporate finance. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and then held key finance roles at Lafarge and Mantrac. He later served as the Personal and Business Banking (PBB) Finance Manager at Stanbic Bank and the CFO of Mercantile Credit Bank, before joining I&M Bank.  

Timothy holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University and a BSc in Engineering from Makerere University. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). He is on the 2023 cohort of the CEO Apprenticeship Program (CAP) facilitated by CEO Summit in partnership with Strathmore Business School, Nairobi. 

Lucy Akech, who assumed the position of Head of Human Resources on April 17, 2023, was prior to that, the Senior People Partner & Country Culture Lead at ABSA Bank Uganda from February 2016. 

Her more than two-decade professional journey commenced at Green Hill Academy Schools, where she held various roles before transitioning to Barclays Bank (later Absa) as a Training Advisor. Within ABSA Bank Uganda, she took on several key positions, including Acting HR Advisor, Head of Learning and Development, and Head of Leadership, Learning and talent.  

She holds a Master of Education in Administration and Planning from Uganda Christian University and a Bachelor of Education Degree from Makerere University, among other qualifications.
