Connie Nankya, the Communications and Public Relations Manager at Housing Finance Bank since 2017 has quit the Kololo-headquartered bank to take up a similar role at Movit Products Limited.
CEO East Africa Magazine understands, she will take her new office on October 5, 2020.
Movit Products is Uganda’s leading Personal Care Company, manufacturing a range of beauty and personal care products. Other than Uganda, the company also exports to seven other countries in Africa.
Connie boasts of a 13-year experience in editorial as well as corporate brand and marketing communications in financial services, energy, transport and entertainment sectors.
Before Housing Finance Bank, Connie worked for Eskom Uganda Limited as the Corporate Affairs Officer and Pioneer Easy Bus Company as the Public Relations Manager. She has also worked as a writer and columnist for Monitor Publications Ltd, publishers of Daily Monitor, Uganda’s leading independent daily as well as for DSTV Africa where she hosted an entertainment program, “Star Zone” on Africa Magic Plus.
At Housing Finance Bank, where she was the first Communications and Public Relations Manager in the newly set up public relations unit, she will be remembered for boosting the bank’s visibility amongst internal and external publics and increasing the bank’s share of voice/ink, both in traditional and new media.
Connie holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Uganda Christian University-Mukono and a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Media Management from Cavendish University.
