Poultry and feeds company, Biyinzika Poultry International (BPIL) has appointed Henry K. Mambwe as its Chief Executive Officer, effective 19th May 2021.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Mambwe served with BPIL as Chief Finance Officer since August 2018, giving him significant knowledge about the business as well as the regional marketplace where the company distributes its products.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, from the University of Zambia and he is a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (FZICA) as well as a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) respectively. He previously worked with Zambia Sugar Plc, as the Finance Director.
“Henry has a wealth of experience in financial matters and his time at BPIL has provided him with a broad knowledge of operating a modern poultry business in East Africa,” said a statement by the board, announcing his appointment.
“BPIL continues to grow its market share on all fronts in the Ugandan marketplace but is also expanding its geographical reach with the recent development of a sales base in Kenya,” further said the statement.
BPIL is one of the leading players in the poultry and feeds industry with 41 feed agri-branches countrywide and 21 Pearl Chicken shops. The company also hatches and sells quality day-old chick breeds including globally recognized breeds such as Cobb 500, Ross 308, H&N Brown Nick and Sasso.
The company also makes quality animal feed at their state-of-the-art fully automated mill in Mukono.
BIPL was founded in 1990 as a poultry breeder farm and has grown steadily over the years to establish itself as one of the best-known brands in the Ugandan poultry industry.
Today, the company has a hatching capacity of 1,620,000 eggs per month.
