Heineken Uganda has introduced Primus Lager Beer, the latest addition to its planned increase in its portfolio that will include alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The brewer also plans on unveiling another premium brand at the start of next year.

Heineken will celebrate its launch with a series of events. The first is a media only event that will be held in the coming months where the company will unveil its expanded product lineup. This features a collection of products in both cans and bottles starting from 330ml to the 500ml Primus and the tequila flavored Desperados brand.

Primus beer is a 5% ABV (Alcohol by Volume) lager that is brewed in 4 different countries in Central Africa including Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Burundi and Rwanda. It comes in a 500ml bottle and will retail at Ushs 3,500 shillings across the country.

Nathan Akandanaho, National Sales Manager for Heineken said, “As the mainstream beer segment continues to grow and we continue to expand, it is critical that we stand out by reinforcing our position with new brands. We have incorporated many key elements in the new portfolio line-up to cover the needs of all segments of our customers and this will help us achieve this goal.
