| Business, marketing and communications consultant, Goretti Masadde, has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS).
Goretti, who assumed office effective March 16th, 2020 replaces Anthony A. Mulindwa who has been the institute’s CEO, since February 2016.
The Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (formerly The Uganda Institute of Bankers) was established in 1990 as the training and certification body for the banking and financial services industry in Uganda. ,”

She is a versatile experienced executive, having worked in various senior leadership positions in a variety of sectors including FMCG, Social Development and the Financial Sector. We believe that she will be a great team leader and that she has the right skills and capability to steer the Institute forward at a time of rapid change and innovation. Who is Goretti Masadde?
Goretti, started her senior management experience as the Head of Corporate Communications at the then Global Trust Bank (2008-2011), from where she then headed the Corporate Communications and Product Development role at Orient Bank (2011-2013).
In between 2010 and 2013, she also served as the President of the Public Relations Association of Uganda- an umbrella body of all Public Relations (PR) practitioners working in private, public and corporate institutions and organisations in Uganda.
A food scientist by training, in August 2010, she, together with Dr. Dorothy Nakimbugwe, a
Senior Lecturer in the Department of Food Technology & Nutrition at Makerere University, co-founded Nutreal Uganda Limited, a maker of affordable, innovative nutrient-enhanced foods, made out of locally produced foods.
From April 2013 to December 2016, she was the Deputy Director, Marketing Communications and Sales for Programme for Accessible Health Communication and Education (PACE) Uganda- a local health non-governmental organization and affiliate of Population Services International (PSI) Uganda.
After PACE Uganda, she went into private business, marketing and communications consulting at More Limited.
She is a Rotarian and the reigning fourth president of the Rotary Club of Kisugu-Victoria View.
An old girl of the famous Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga, Goretti graduated from Makerere University with a Bachelors of Food Science and Technology. She also holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Royal Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) in the United Kingdom. |
