Gayaza high school in Wakiso district , has been named among the finalists in the Microsoft in Education Global Forum. This follows the school succeeding in pitching their idea on how to transform education using technology after the school attained the Microsoft Mentor School status.

Gayaza High School’s winning idea dubbed the ‘E-Market library’, is an online library page with links to videos showing the processes of production within the small scale local enterprises in Uganda and where they are located.
The online library is expected to serve the purpose of marketing local businesses alongside giving youth an opportunity to learn from the successes of other businesses.
Gayaza`s entry into the prestigious global event dates back to November 2013, when the school was nominated by Microsoft Corporation as a Microsoft mentor school among the 80 selected in the world. The schools are expected to come up with programs to promote the use of technology within the curriculum in their education systems and influence other schools in the same direction.
The Microsoft in Education Global Forum was formerly known as the Partners in Learning Global Forum that recognises and celebrates the achievements of the world’s most innovative school leaders and educators who are leveraging technology to help students realize their potential.
Commenting on the development, Gayaza High School Deputy Head teacher Ronald Ddungu said, “The youth today are being encouraged to become job creators and not job seekers but they do not have a library from where they can learn about the possible businesses that have succeeded in Uganda.
