Finance Trust Bank (FTB) has released UGX 250 million to the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) as part of its ongoing five-year sponsorship commitment toward the development of women’s football in Uganda.
The funds, disbursed ahead of the commencement of the second round of the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League and the kick-off of this season’s Finance Trust Bank Women’s Elite League, reinforce the Bank’s long-term investment in growing the women’s game.
Speaking on the sidelines of a media interview, Percy Lubega, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Finance Trust Bank, confirmed the release of the funds, noting that the disbursement forms part of the UGX 2 billion women’s football sponsorship unveiled in August 2024.

“Our commitment to women’s football is deliberate and long-term. The release of UGX 250 million for this season underscores our resolve to ensure consistency, stability, and growth within the women’s leagues. We believe sustained investment is what will transform the game and unlock greater opportunities for women and girls across Uganda,” Lubega said.
The second round of the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League commenced on 21st February 2026, while the Finance Trust Bank Women’s Elite League is set to kick off on Saturday, 28th February 2026.
Since the unveiling of the five-year UGX 2 billion sponsorship in 2024, Finance Trust Bank has positioned itself as a strategic partner in elevating the standards, competitiveness, and visibility of women’s football nationally. The sponsorship provides critical financial support for league operations and club participation, contributing to the professionalization and sustainability of the women’s game.
The partnership aligns with Finance Trust Bank’s broader mission of empowering women socially and economically, extending its impact beyond financial services into sports, youth development, and community advancement.

As the season progresses, Finance Trust Bank and FUFA remain committed to strengthening structures that nurture talent and inspire the next generation of female athletes.
