Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning Undersecretary and Accounting Officer Betty Kasimbazi is set to retire this month after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.
The Finance Ministry family led by Minister Matia Kasaija officially bid farewell to Kasimabazi yesterday at the ministry headquarters in Kampala.
Kasaija applauded Kasimbazi for exhibiting a higher degree of efficiency, professionalism and accountability in the management of public resources.
The Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Treasury, Keith Muhakanizi also hailed Betty Kasimbazi (BK) for being an innovative Accounting Officer.
Dr. Ssengonzi Edward Ddamulira comes in as the new Undersecretary and Accounting Officer.
Dr. Ssengonzi was recently promoted to Undersecretary and has been serving as Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.
