Eri Ssebowa is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with over nine years of progressive experience in strategic financial management, business partnering, financial reporting, and performance management across the banking, telecommunications, and real estate sectors.
Prior to this appointment, Eri served as Finance Business Partner – Retail and Business Banking at Absa Bank Uganda, where he played a critical role in driving strategic financial initiatives, optimizing budgeting and forecasting processes, strengthening revenue assurance, and providing board-level financial insights to support sustainable growth. He was instrumental in enhancing data-driven decision-making through advanced financial modelling, predictive analytics, and digital dashboards.
Eri previously held senior roles at American Tower Corporation, including Acting Africa Regional Power Financial Controller and Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, overseeing multi-country power financial operations across Africa. In these roles, he led process standardization initiatives, improved cost efficiencies, strengthened internal controls, and supported strategic investments that delivered measurable improvements in profitability, return on invested capital, and sustainability outcomes. Earlier in his career, Eri served as Management Accountant at National Housing and Construction Company Limited, contributing to company valuation, project financing, cost optimization, and major construction projects with strong margins.
He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Uganda, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (Honours).
Eri is also a distinguished ACCA award winner, having emerged as Uganda’s Best ACCA Affiliate (March 2020), ranked 12th globally, and best performer in Advanced Financial Management and Advanced Performance Management papers in Uganda, with top global rankings.
Known for his strong commercial acumen, strategic mindset, and decisive leadership style, Eri brings deep expertise in financial strategy, FP&A, corporate governance, stakeholder engagement, and systems optimization. His appointment strengthens the organization’s leadership team and reinforces its commitment to financial excellence, value creation, and long-term sustainability.
