Prompted by the on-going global financial effects that have propelled an increase in prices of commodities around the world, numerous companies including multi-nationals operating in Uganda are now revising various tactics to stay afloat in business.
In response to above economic trend, DStv Uganda has increased its monthly subscription fees on all its bouquets.
With effect from 1st September 2022, DSTV subscribers will start paying up to a 7% increment on most of Multi Choice television packages which include; DStv Access, Dstv family, Dstv Compact and Compact Plus among others.
According to the South African-based digital satellite television provider, the price increment is due to inflation and a difficult business environment that is currently dominating the global and local economy.
“Due to the rise in cost of doing business, we need to adjust the price of our packages so as to continue providing you with unrivaled entertainment,” DSTV Uganda stated on its official twitter page on Monday 1st August, 2022.
The DSTV Premium package was revised upwards by 6% from UGX to UGX 239,000 upto UGX 255,000.
DStv Compact+ and Compact Bouquets will increase by 5% and 6% respectively and will now cost UGX 150,000 and UGX 95,000 from UGX 142,000 and 89,000 respectively.
DStv Family monthly subscription will in a month’s time cost UGX 59,000 – an increment of UGX 4,000 from the current price of UGX 55,000.

The only unrevised bouquet is DStv Asian which has remained unchanged at UGX 132,000.
