DHL Express Uganda has been issued a certificate of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) joining 21 other local companies that have been accredited since 2013. The AEO is issued to companies deemed as having an excellent history of compliance in regards to customs laws and procedures. Its objective is to enhance trade facilitation, promote customs to business partnerships, promote security of international trade supply chain and promote voluntary compliance to customs laws and procedures.
Receiving the certificate at a recent event, DHL Express Uganda Country Manager Asteway Desta said being an Authorized Economic Operator grants a special status to the company.
“It allows us to pass over a range of benefits to our immediate customers when transacting business with customs. These include faster clearance turnaround time and peace of mind. The accreditation is yet another vote of confidence in our service quality. We are delighted to be recognized as an AEO and look forward to working together with the URA to support the growth of Uganda’s economy by facilitating international trade in Uganda and across the world,
