KAMPALA, UGANDA- Uganda Breweries Ltd’s Alvin Mbugua emerged the overall winner of the inaugural Chief Financial Officer of the Year Award, which award was organized by the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Deloitte Uganda.
Mbugua took home the overall accolade together with the Strategy Execution Award. National Social Security Fund’s Patrick Ayota was the runners up.
Public Sector CFO Award was won by Edith Kakuba the Head of Finance and Accounts at the National Medical Stores, the Young CFO Award went to Bruno Muhindi the Head of Finance at Kenya Commercial Bank Uganda while Samuel Mwogeza the Chief Finance Officer of Stanbic Bank Uganda took home the \finance Transformation Award.
Beatrice Isagayite, the Head of ACCA Uganda said the awards were put up to raise the profile of Chief Financial Officers and the role they play in developing good business and finance practices, embedding environmental and broader social issues into strategic decision making.
