Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Uganda has appointed Deborah “Debbie” Komugisha Kakande as Human Resources Manager while Mary Nassali is Strategy & Performance Director for Central Africa Region (Uganda, Tanzania and Ghana), based in Uganda.
Kakande is a skilled Human Resources professional with over fourteen (14) years’ experience. She joins from Housing Finance Bank, where she worked for the past six years as the Manager of the Human Resources Development. During this time, she gained vast experience leading culture change processes, developing and implementing talent management frameworks and developing business partnering models to support achievement of the Bank’s business goals. Prior to this she worked with MTN Uganda as a Learning and Development Specialist, among other roles.
She is an Enthusiastic HR Specialist with a keen eye on Organizational learning & Development; dedicated to grooming the best talent for transformational performance excellence in building go-to teams & individuals. She is Passionate about HR strategic partnerships, and empowered and confident to lead HR Business conversations at the table as a skilled negotiator.
Debbie holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (English & Literature) from Kyambogo University. She is a Certified Senior Professional In Human Resource Management (SPHRi), and a Certified Professional Coach with Coach Masters Academy.
She inspires positive transformational change among individuals. She is also a mentor with Girls for Girls Uganda, an international drive that empowers girls and women to lead on all fronts. She is a Rotarian and an active member of the HR Managers Association of Uganda.
She is an ardent reader of life stories, enjoys a cool swim and a calm highway drive that facilitates meditation.

On the other hand, Nassali brings on board 22 years of experience in Strategy, Business Planning, Profitable Revenue Growth, Marketing, Innovation and Governance; all within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods segment.
She has built a strong career in the Beverages sector, specifically with Alcoholic Consumer Packaged Goods in Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. Prior to joining Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Mary was Financial Planning & Analysis and Revenue Management for the South East region of ABInBev Africa, covering Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia, Uganda, Botswana and Namibia. She is an MBA holder, and qualified ACCA, a Certificated Coach, Governance Specialist and Female Future Graduate.
Mary will be responsible for the Business Plan processes and supporting their implementation across the Central Africa Region.
