Joe Hanna is a seasoned telecommunications and Towerco executive with extensive experience in business development, commercial leadership, and strategic partnerships across Africa and Asia. He is passionate about technology, company transformation, and customer value creation, consistently driving growth and operational excellence in the telecom sector.
He is currently the Country Manager at Minara Tanzania, a joint venture between SBA Communications and Paradigm Infrastructure, overseeing more than 1,700 telecom sites across Tanzania. In this role, he leads a dynamic team focused on operational efficiency, market expansion, and supporting the country’s growing telecommunications industry.
At the same time, he holds the position of Senior Director, Business Development Africa & Asia at SBA Communications, where he is responsible for developing strategic partnerships, negotiating agreements, and driving business growth across both continents.
With over 13 years at IHS Towers, he has held several senior roles, including Director of Commercial Operations, Commercial Director, and Sales Manager, where he played a key role in revenue negotiations, contract management, business expansion, and introducing innovative telecom solutions such as LTE, 4G, and Indoor Building Solutions (IBS).
