A few days ago, a photo of billionaire (in dollars) Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia almost broke the internet- for the rarest of reasons; his fashion sense.
While officially inaugurating his latest $10 million, 12-storey Electrical Plaza on Market Street and Kiyembe Lane in the busy downtown Kampala, the 63-year old businessman took social media by storm.

Clad in all white- spotting skinny white ripped jeans, slightly folded at the hems and matching white shoes and milk-white cotton short sleeved shirt and a diamond stud in one of the ears, Dr. Sudhir’s photo, of him speaking to his daughter in-law Naiya Khagram attracted a lot of online attention and reviews.

“All white everything. Skinny damaged jeans and all. 63 looks very good on Sudhir Ruparelia,” wrote lifestyle journalist and PR expert, Henry Ssali on his Facebook timeline.
“With all due respect, I think the designer of Kaguta Museveni should talk to the designer of Uncle Sudhir,” wrote Lucky Mbabazi, a Radio/TV presenter on her twitter feed.

Our CEO Lifestyle reporter reached out to Dr. Sudhir about his new-found fashion sense and his new lean looks and specifically about the ripped jeans, he was candid:
“It is the fashion and the order of the day plus I like the ripped jeans,” he said.
And if you were wondering how much his jeans cost him, he said: “My jeans cost around USD100 (UGX370,000) each and I buy from H&M Stores and Debenhams in Dubai and London as I like the cotton they use.”

“I own about 50 white jeans/trousers and about 50 white cotton/line shirts. I also only put on white shoes mainly from Lacoste, Louis Vuitton and Tod’s. These designers specializes in white shoes,” he said.
Lacoste and Louis Vuitton are both French luxury brands while Tod’s is an Italian luxury fashion house.
He said he also own several white t-shirts, cotton shorts and fedora hats.
On his love for white as a colour he has this to say: “It is because white gives a very positive energy according to my stars.”
