Caroline Kamaitha – CK, a seasoned technology and telecoms executive with nearly two decades of experience in Africa’s satellite and connectivity industries, has been appointed as the new General Manager of Raxio Data Centre Uganda. She brings to the role a proven track record of executive leadership, business development, and operational excellence across the continent.
A Career Built on Connectivity and Growth
Caroline’s professional journey reflects both depth and breadth in Africa’s fast-evolving digital infrastructure landscape. Before joining Raxio in April 2025, she spent more than a decade at SES Satellites, one of the world’s leading Satellite connectivity providers. Rising to the position of Vice President – Africa, she spearheaded enterprise and cloud business strategies, developing new markets, and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
Her earlier roles with O3b Networks, iWayAfrica Zambia, and Afsat Services cemented her reputation as a strong strategic sales leader. At O3b, she directed sales efforts across 19 Sub-Saharan African countries, driving the adoption of cutting-edge Ka-band satellite technology. As Country Manager for iWayAfrica Zambia, she successfully built a subsidiary from scratch, combining acquisition-led growth with regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and profitability.
The Raxio Mandate
At Raxio Uganda, Caroline has been tasked with steering the company’s operations and ensuring its position as a trusted digital infrastructure partner in the region. Her mandate covers revenue growth, operational management, financial performance, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement.
She is expected to align local operations with Raxio Group’s pan-African vision—delivering reliable, scalable, and secure data centre services to enterprises, telcos, and governments. This includes overseeing uptime and compliance, while also driving sales strategies that expand the company’s footprint in East Africa’s competitive digital economy.
A Leader of Influence
CK is not only an accomplished executive but also a recognised industry influencer. She has been named among Africa’s “Top 40 under 40” and listed among the “35 Most Influential Women in Tech in Africa.” In recognition of her contributions to business and society, she has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities (Honoris Causa).

Her leadership philosophy blends strategic foresight, customer-centricity, and talent development. At Raxio, she is already building high-performing teams while fostering alignment with broader corporate goals. Her ability to bridge technical know-how with market insights makes her a rare asset in Uganda’s fast-transforming ICT sector.
Academic and Professional Credentials
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She has also pursued executive and professional training in mediation and humanitarian negotiation, underscoring her skills in leadership, diplomacy, and stakeholder management. She is currently completing her Doctorate studies in Leadership and Cultural Development whilst undertaking research on the impact of the integration of Artificial Intelligence on decision-making in organisations.
Outlook
As Uganda positions itself as a regional hub for digital services and cloud adoption, Raxio Data Centre stands at the forefront of this transformation. Under Caroline’s stewardship, the company is poised not only to consolidate its local market leadership but also to drive broader digital inclusion and infrastructure growth across East Africa.
Her appointment signals a new chapter—one where Raxio will leverage both global best practices and local market understanding to power the region’s digital future.
