Doreen Nyiramugisha, the former Manager, Marketing and Communications at Bank of Africa has crossed over to Post Bank Uganda, where she has been appointed Head, Marketing and Communications.
Doreen wields 9 years of experience in marketing and communications, most of which have been spent in top-tier advertising agencies in Uganda. She broke her marketing teeth as an Account Executive at Fireworks Advertising where she managed key brands such as Centenary Bank, NSSF Uganda, and Uganda Insurers’ Association among others. She later joined SCANAD Uganda where she was the Account Manager for Barclays Bank (now Absa Uganda). She went on to join Moringa Ogilvy (now TBWA – Uganda), where she ran the Uganda Telecom, DSTV Africa, and Bank of Africa brands.
From TBWA, she joined the former Fideli Advertising from whence she joined Bank of Africa.
Doreen holds a Bachelor of International Business degree from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM UK). She is also currently pursuing an MBA from the University of South Wales.
A former colleague of Doreen, Donato Laboke, General Manager, Marketing and Brand, Sanlam described her as a ferocious executive.
“I first interacted with Doreen 9 years ago, during recruitment interviews for an account executive role at fireworks Advertising where I headed the department. Her ferociousness stood out from all the other candidates. Her fast-growth and excellent performance did not disappoint management. It is no wonder she has quickly grown to make an impact on the organisations she has worked with.”
In a recent interview with CEO East Africa Magazine, Julius Kakeeto, Post Bank Uganda, Managing Director, said that the bank had restructured itself, creating new people needs to drive the bank’s transformation into a tier 1 commercial bank. As such, Doreen’s appointment is one of the various recruitments to breathe new life into Post Bank.
