Insurance brokerage firm AON Uganda has appointed city lawyer and business man Elly Karuhanga as its first ever Ugandan board chairman. With a wide range of experience from sectors such as banking, manufacturing, energy, technology among others, Karuhanga is expected to be instrumental in driving the company through its next phase of growth in the market.
Speaking at a an event held at the Sheraton Kampala in the week ending Friday 25th July 2014, AON Uganda CEO Maurice Amogola said the company was privileged to have Dr Karuhanga at its service.
“Dr Karuhanga brings with him a wealth of experience serving as chairman and director in boards of several blue chip companies like Nile Breweries(SABMiller), DFCU bank, British American Tobacco Uganda Limited and Interswitch Uganda. Aon has aligned itself to offer services in the oil, gas and mining industry drawing on its global experience and tailored to local solutions. As the current chairman for Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum, Dr Karuhanga’s guidance will be instrumental as AON positions itself as the first lead consultant in the industry,
