President Yoweri Museveni, also Commander in Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has promoted First son Muhoozi Kainerugaba from Lieutenant General to General.
“He continues with duties as Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations,” a statement from Office of the Defence Spokesperson, signed by Defence Spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye says.
At the same time, Major General Muhanga Kayanja has been promoted to Lieutenant General and takes over from Gen Kainerugaba as Commander Land Forces.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the General Officers upon their well-deserved promotions and appointments,” the statement concludes.
