The European Parliament has passed an emergency resolution to stop the ongoing works on Uganda-Tanzania oil project citing human rights violations and environmental threats. Total East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) would be the largest heated oil pipeline in the world, expected to start producing in 2025 and to reach a cumulative plateau production of 230,000 barrels per day.
