Nation Media Group (NMG) has appointed Susan Nsibirwa, Harriet Nabakooza Musoke and Dr. Emilly Comfort Maractho as Non-Executive Directors of Monitor Publications Limited effective1st April, 2022.
In a statement, NMG says: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Susan Nsibirwa, Mrs. Harriet Nabakooza Musoke and Dr. Emilly Comfort Maractho as Non-Executive Directors of Monitor Publications Limited effective 1st April, 2022. Collectively, they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board.”
Here is a closer look at the three distinguished women leaders.
Susan Nsibirwa

Nsibirwa is an outstanding marketing communications professional and the Managing Partner of Urge Uganda Limited, a communications agency. She has over 20 years of experience of successful corporate marketing and communications teams and departments of some of Uganda’s leading companies in diverse industries such as Banking, Telecommunications and Media.
Nsibirwa is the current Board Chairperson of African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME) and sits on the Boards of Footsteps Furniture Co. Ltd, Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), Greenhill Academy Limited and Basic Needs UK in Uganda.
Nsibirwa has previously served as the Chairperson of Uganda Media Owners Association (UMOA) (2017-2019), and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. She holds an MBA from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Makerere University, Kampala.
Harriet Nabakooza Musoke

Musoke is a leading human capital expert with more than two decades’ experience in Human Resources Strategic Management particularly in the banking sector. She excelled at renowned financial institutions such as dfcu Bank and Standard Chartered Bank where she was Head of Human Resources (2006-2014) and Head of Corporate Affairs (2001-2005), respectively. She is proficient at building and leading high performance teams.
Musoke is a non-executive director of Sanlam General Insurance Ltd and Kakira Sugar Limited under the Madhvani Group of Companies.
Musoke is a graduate of Makerere University (BCom) with an MBA from Bentley University, USA. She is a member of the Human Resources Management Association Uganda (HRMAU), the Uganda Bankers Association (UBA) and Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE). She is also a Gallup-Certified Coach and a Rotarian.
Dr. Emilly Comfort Maractho

Dr. Maractho is a distinguished academician and researcher. She is a Senior Lecturer of Journalism and Media, Studies, and Director, Africa Policy Centre at Uganda Christian University (UCU),
Dr. Maractho currently serves on the governing boards of the African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), Uganda Media Women’s Association (UMWA), and the Editorial Board for Journal of Critical Arts. She is also member of East African Communication Association, institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda, and Forum for African Women Educationalists – Uganda. Dr. Maractho is a Principal Investigator for Worlds of Journalism Studies for Uganda, and a member of the Committee of Experts on Inclusion and Equity for National Development at Uganda National Academy of ‘Sciences (UNAS). She holds a PhD in Cultural and Media Studies of the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa and is a past post-doctoral fellow at the NLA University College in Norway,
