An enduring question for early-stage investors, aspiring entrepreneurs and policymakers is whether one can predict with a high degree of probability the likely success of any entrepreneur. What if, one had a magical lens that can show whether people who can innovate and create commercially radically new ideas will succeed? If this were true, it would truly be disruptive!
Founder Institute (FI.co), the world’s largest pre-seed startup accelerator innovated and developed a unique approach to assess the likelihood of entrepreneur success.
Using big data collected from various founders over their company’s lifecycle and applying behavioral science techniques, FI developed a one-hour long test termed “Entrepreneurial DNA”, which measures intelligence, aptitude and applies psychology’s 5 Big Personality Traits to gauge an entrepreneur’s likelihood to succeed. It turns out that the three statistically significant qualities for entrepreneurial success are openness, fluid intelligence and age. The Entrepreneurial DNA test must be passed for any participant in Founder Institute’s programs.
Founder Institute, also referred to by some as “a night school for startup entrepreneurs”, was founded in 2009 by Adeo Ressi and Jonathan Greechan and estimates that its alumni have cumulatively created over 25,000 jobs and raised over $900 million in funding.
The startup accelerator has set the target of one-third of its alumni creating products in line with the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals, and many of the city’s top startup investors, founders, and executives are participating in the program as mentors, partners, and sponsors.
By following a structured process to build and grow a company, and via mentorship and support from a vibrant local network of experts, Kampala
entrepreneurs are given access to two of the primary resources they need to start a business.
Founder Institute Accelerator has launched its 14-week digital accelerator program in Kampala, in an effort to boost local entrepreneurship lead by Alan Lwetabe, CFA as Director Founder Institute Kampala.
To join, aspiring entrepreneurs can apply online at https://fi.co/join for the Founder Institute Kampala 2022 pre-seed accelerator program, which begins on March 22, 2022.
