Stanbic Bank Uganda has appointed, Ken Agutamba as its Manager, Reputation and Communications.
In that role, he will be responsible for executing the bank’s corporate communications strategy and sponsorships, as well as implementing stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Agutamba brings to the game more than 10 years of multi-sector communications experience that cuts across business journalism, strategic media relations, stakeholder engagement, communication, and knowledge management; gained from the banking, international development, and diplomacy sectors.
Before joining Stanbic, he worked for the Palladium Group, an international advisory and management multinational, as Communication Manager.
Ken’s Journalism career began in Western Uganda where he worked as a radio talk-show host before moving to Kigali, Rwanda, thriving as a mainstream business journalist and columnist for domestic and regional titles. While in Kigali, he also built a successful communications practice. Among other organisations, he successfully managed and delivered positive corporate brand and stakeholder relations for Bank of Kigali, where he worked as Communications and Public Relations Manager.
Agutamba holds an M.A in International Communication from the Communication University of China (Beijing) and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the Uganda Christian University (Kampala). He is a News Literacy Fellow of Stony Brook University School of Journalism (New York, USA).
A member of the Public Relations Association of Rwanda (PRAR), he is passionate about international relations, responsible business, leadership, and citizen participation in community development.
