Bank of Uganda Legal Slayers: Who are the KAA lawyers that defeated BoU in the UGX397 bn dispute against Dr. Sudhir, Uganda’s richest billionaire? On July 1st, Hon Justice, Prof. Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza, of the Supreme Court dismissed Bank of Uganda’s attempts to hold on to Crane Bank Limited and ordered that the company be returned to its shareholders following the lapse of the receivership on the 20th January 2018 and the subsequent dismissal of Bank of Uganda’s case against the bank’s shareholders. It also means that the Central Bank can no longer take any other action in Crane Bank’s name, especially after the Supreme court had thwarted attempts to progress the bank into liquidation last year. But who are the Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA) lawyers that have been at the centre of this UGX397 billion dispute?
