KIRYANDONGO, UGANDA- Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited (UEGCL) has said they have so far paid $783 million to the Karuma Hydro Power Project Engineering, Procurement and Construction Contractor, Sinohydro, representing a financial progress of 56%.
In November 2016, the Uganda Government Agency was granted full contract administration powers for the two hydro power projects of Karuma and Isimba.
They added that the project has reached its 48th month into the 60 months duration representing 80% time progress. The total project cost is $1.4b.
The physical works, civil, hydro mechanical and electro mechanical progress is estimated at 71% as at the end of November 2017.
