Africa Internet Group (AIG), the parent company to e-commerce sites Hellofood, Everjobs, Kaymu and Lamudi to mention but a few has announced it is re-branding these businesses to Jumia. This is in a bid to connect its companies into Jumia’s ecosystem with a new vision, ‘Expand your horizons’. The system will give access to products and services from AIG’s 9 leading platforms.
Customers will now access all services offered by AIG under the Jumia brand. These include fashion and electronics with Jumia (previously Jumia and Kaymu)], Jumia Market (previously Kaymu), Jumia Travel (previously Jovago), Jumia Food (formerly Hellofood), Jumia House (formerly Lamudi), Jumia Jobs (formerly Everjobs) and lastly logistics services with Jumia Services (AIGX).
Addressing the media at a breakfast held at Mckinnon Suites in Kampala on 23rd June 2016, Sacha Poignonnec and Jeremy Hodara, founders and co-CEOs of Jumia said, “We founded our companies with a very strong belief that the internet can improve people’s lives in Africa. Uniting all services allows us to better help our customers fulfill their daily aspirations. This is all possible because people connect to our platform to access those services and products in an environment that we have designed for them, addressing their needs and expectations on quality, choice, price, trust and convenience.
