Uganda’s Jonathan Sengendo has been promoted to Partner at Sango Capital, marking a significant milestone in his career with the investment firm focused on private market opportunities across Africa.
Since joining the firm in 2019 from Goldman Sachs, Sengendo has played a central role in both direct investments and fund commitments. His work has spanned deal sourcing, due diligence, portfolio oversight, and strategic execution across the firm’s investment platform.
He was also instrumental in the early development of Sango Capital’s permanent capital vehicle, designed to support long-term, flexible investment across the continent.
As part of his promotion, Sengendo joins the firm’s executive committee, where he will help shape Sango Capital’s strategic direction and strengthen its mission of delivering high-quality private market exposure to global investors in Africa.
Founded in 2011, the Johannesburg-based investment management firm – Sango Capital – invests on behalf of sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices, combining global best practice with deep local networks to unlock mid-market opportunities across the continent.
