Diamond Advocates, a law firm based in Kampala, has joined WONE GLOBAL, an international network of firms providing legal, tax, audit, and business advisory services. The development makes Diamond Advocates the first Ugandan law firm to join the WONE GLOBAL network.
The firm is led by Managing Partner Galandi Tony Kiire.
Through this development, Diamond Advocates becomes part of a network comprising more than 100 senior partners operating across over 30 countries. Membership in the network enables the firm to collaborate with other member firms and provide services aligned with international standards to clients operating across multiple jurisdictions. The move reflects ongoing changes within Uganda’s legal and professional services sector.
Following the firm’s admission into the network, Galandi Tony Kiire has been appointed WONE Global Technology Leader for Uganda. In this role, he will contribute to technology-related initiatives within the network at a national level. The appointment is linked to Diamond Advocates’ use of technology in legal service delivery and its engagement with digital tools within the practice of law.
Commenting on the development, Galandi Tony Kiire stated that the firm’s membership in WONE GLOBAL represents a strategic alignment rather than a symbolic affiliation. He noted that the partnership is intended to enable Diamond Advocates to combine local legal expertise with access to international professional resources, with the objective of delivering integrated services to both Ugandan and international clients.
Mr. Kiire is also the founding partner of Lextech AI Company Ltd, a company involved in developing legal technology solutions. These include Lexchat and Esheria, which are artificial intelligence research tools trained on local case law, as well as LegalKall, a digital platform designed to connect lawyers with clients.
In addition to his professional practice, Kiire has been involved in legal technology discourse and professional engagement. He chaired the organising committee for Uganda’s first Technology Law Conference, commonly referred to as “Tech Fest,” and hosts a podcast titled Legal Tech Dialogues, which focuses on discussions around digital transformation within the legal profession. His work has previously been recognised through several awards, including the Uganda Law Society Presidential Appreciation Award and a Digital Excellence Award.
Industry observers have described Diamond Advocates’ entry into WONE GLOBAL as a notable development for Uganda’s professional services sector. According to a senior analyst familiar with the sector, the move indicates that some Ugandan firms are engaging with global professional trends, particularly in specialised areas such as legal technology. The analyst further noted that access to globally connected legal services within Uganda may be relevant to international businesses and investors operating in or considering entry into the market.
Galandi Tony Kiire holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre, Kampala. He also holds a Master’s degree in Institutional Leadership and Management from the Uganda Management Institute, as well as an Advanced Certificate in Computer Science for Lawyers from Harvard Law School.
The integration of Diamond Advocates into the WONE GLOBAL network reflects the growing participation of East African professional firms in international networks and collaborative platforms, particularly where technology and cross-border service delivery are concerned.
