Regional retailer Nakumatt Holdings has applauded the Uganda security forces for their efforts in combating terrorism in the country. This comes as the region marks one year since the chilling Westgate Mall terror attack that happened on September 21st to 24th, 2013. The retail chain, which was hard hit by the tragic event that saw 67 people dead and hundreds injured, has been on the forefront in advocating for vigilance of any terror threats.
In memory of the fateful tragedy, the company on Sunday conducted interdenominational religious prayers across all its branches in East Africa. The prayers which were open to members of the public were led by respective Nakumatt branch chaplains and catechists. Making his comment during the service Nakumatt Oasis Branch manager Vincent Kimuya said the business was affected across the region.
