MTN Uganda has announced that Mazen Mroue the current CEO has been replaced and will move to MTN Irancell as the new Chief Operations Officer. The news came as a surprise to the company’s employees who described Mroue as a great leader who nurtured his staff and boost performance beyond the ordinary level. During his time in office there was a notable growth in the company’s subscriber base as well as usage of various services.
In a press release seen by the CEO Magazine, MTN Group President Sifiso Dabengwa said, “Under Mazen’s stewardship in the last two years, MTN Uganda subscriber base grew by 30 percent, data users by 38 percent and Mobile Money subscription by 95 percent. MTN Uganda maintained its strong market leadership in all the key parameters and MTN overall market share increased by 5.8 percent.
