Uganda struck oil in the Albertine Graben in 2006 and reached the Financial Investment Decision (FID) in February 2022. Since then, much work has been ongoing on the needed production and enabling infrastructure in the Albertine Graben oil fields and on the 1443km USD5 billion East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP).
