Harriette Kasirye is currently the Ag. Marketing and Customer Experience Director at Absa Bank Uganda Limited, having joined the Bank (then Barclays) in 2016 as the Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations. She was previously the Head of CSR/Corporate Philanthropy as well as the Head of Marketing at Orange Uganda. Harriette held various posts at MTN Uganda Limited such as Senior Product Manager, Mobile Products and Services Manager and Specialised Call Centre supervisor.
Her 24 year career sports a number of highlights including the successful landing of the Absa brand in Uganda, replacing a more than 90 year legacy. She led the strategic formulation and launch of the Orange brand in Uganda, which transformed the data/ connectivity landscape in the market which introduced the unprecedented per second billing, among others. While at MTN, Harriette’s contribution saw MTN Uganda take the lead within the group on a winning product portfolio which was replicated across their Africa and Middle East operations; positioning the group as an influencer to technology platform vendors while designing solutions addressing customer requirements.
She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Makerere University and obtained her Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Telecommunications and Information Systems from the University of Strathclyde Glasgow in the United Kingdom. In addition, Harriette holds a Diploma in Strategic Marketing from the University of Witwatersrand Johannesburg in South Africa and a Diploma in Development Capacities from Open University, United Kingdom.
For leisure, Harriette enjoys nature, gardening, as well as spending time with her favourite charities (Missionaries of the Poor and Mapeera Baketeyamba Nalukokougo).
