CPA Dorothy Nseka Kiyaga is the Chief Audit Executive at Housing Finance Bank Limited. She is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors of Uganda (IIA), and a Member of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (ICGU).
She holds a Master’s of Science (Finance & Accounting) from Makerere University and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Accounting) from Makerere University. She is also an alumni of the CEO Apprenticeship and Executive Leadership Programmesfrom Strathmore Business School.
She serves on the Audit Committee of Local Governments under the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, a Council member of ICGU and a Treasurer at IIA Uganda. She also offer Board Audit committee advisory roles to various organizations under the recommendation of IIA Uganda.
She prides herself in her ability to apply emotional intelligence to the Internal Audit profession to positively win the minds of the Internal Audit stakeholders that have for long perceived the profession differently. This has gone a long way to create stakeholder buy-in to leverage on the services of internal auditors, while still maintaining the independence of the profession. She has successfully done this beyond my work place to a Global level. For the last three years since 2018, Housing Finance Bank has partnered with IIA Uganda and won three “Building Awareness Championships” at IIA Global in a row. This has been through applying initiatives that build awareness and excitement about Internal Audit profession to Internal Audit stakeholders.
