Christine Birungi is the Head of Marketing, Communications & PR at Cairo Bank Uganda, in charge of developing and executing comprehensive marketing, communication, and public relations plans for the Bank in line with the Bank’s Objectives.
Prior to joining Cairo Bank Uganda, she was the Manager Marketing, Communications & PR Manager at Finance Trust Bank for 3 years where she led the bank’s Communication and Marketing initiatives to drive growth and as well as maintain value-creating stakeholder relations- Board & Shareholders, Management & Staff, Regulators, Customers and the Media. She presided over effort to turn the bank into an appealing innovative institution attracting both customers and the best staff and also Led the digitalization agenda to give bank customers various digital self-service tools. Before joining Finance Trust Bank, she worked with Centenary Bank for 9 years in various roles i.e. Supervisor Corporate Affairs where she was managing the bank’s corporate social investment. She also worked as a Marketing Supervisor and Sales Executive.
Christine is a multi-dimensional professional with expertise of 13 years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Event Management, Branding and Project management.
Christine is member of CIPR- UK and Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU). She is also a mentor with Master Card Foundation and a TOT with The International Labour Organization (ILO).
She is currently pursuing a Professional Public Relations Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), holds a Master’s in Business Administration majoring in Marketing, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management among other credentials. Christine has undergraduate knowledge in Guidance and Counseling- a core of her first degree which she spins off to weld a high level of team management and relation.
